AB – Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the project being held?

All workshops will all be held in Revelstoke, BC.  We are excited that a project of this calibre is being hosted in our own small town.   We hope to tour the final performance across the province.  Participants who live outside of Revelstoke are welcome to join us.

Why is there a minimum age for the project?

The topics relating to the AB Project are pretty heavy with mature themes.  We want to make sure our participants are old enough to discuss and explore these complicated topics and so it is important they understand those themes.

How much does the AB Project cost?

The project is free!  Pending funding, participants travelling in from out of town will receive funds to cover their travel costs.  Those needing to stay overnight in town will be looked after either in a home-stay or hotel. From time to time there might be costs incurred by participants for things like t-shirts.  Friends and families attending the final performance will be required to purchase tickets.

How long will the project run for?

This project will run over several years.  The first phase - the workshops, devising and performance will run over the course of one year.  As we make plans for these events we will talk to participants to try and ensure all rehearsals can be attended by all participants.  We won't have a final schedule until we speak to successful applicants.

I've heard there might be international travel, will I get to go somewhere overseas?

Possibly! Pending funding, we hope to meet with young participants in other countries to learn how they create theatre, play, explore and learn together.  As the project continues, David Glass will work with a selection of participants from the Canadian (Flying Arrow team) ensemble alongside selected participants from the other ten countries to create a new piece of theatre that will tour internationally.

I don't know if I am available for the whole project period, can I still apply?

Yes!  We expect that some youth will join us for some portions of the project, others will stay for the whole project.  We understand young people are busy and that life changes.

Do I need experience?

We are interested in attracting a variety of participants, both experienced actors and those who are not.  We are most interested in hearing from young people who want to make a difference in the world and think theatre might be a good way to promote social change.
