Drama Classes & Camps

Summer 2022 Programming

We have not confirmed any camps for 2022 at this stage. The Mamma Mia! production is taking up all of our volunteer and artist energy.  Watch this space and our Facebook page for updates in July 2022.  Last year's camps are listed below to give you a taste of what we offer annually for our summer programming.

Summer 2021 Programming

We are offering lots of great performing arts options for children this year.  As with last year, our programming will run outside whenever possible to best adhere to COVID-19 protocols.

Camps for youth aged 10+
We are excited to offer camps for older youth with facilitator Sara Harvey!

26th - 30th July - Playing Shakespeare, 9am - 3pm, $220

Camps for youth aged 7+
Hailey Christie-Hoyle is offering two summer camps again this year!

3rd - 6th August - Acting Camp, 9am-3pm, ages 7+, $180 (4 days)
16th - 20th Augst - Musical Theatre Camp, 9am-3pm, ages 7+, $220 (5 days)

Galapagos Project - 9+
Facilitated by Hailey Christie-Hoyle
If your children are keen for a more intensive program and a bit more of a challenge, we are offering a longer project for youth this summer.  This project, called "Galapagos", requires participants to be available for various dates during August and culminates in a devised performance.  Depending on COVID protocols this production will be filmed if audience are not permitted.  Because this project requires children to work at a steady pace to produce a performance in a short period of time, we are interested in recruiting children who have already been in productions or camps with us.

3rd, 4th, 5th August, 4-6pm
9th - 13th August, 9am - 3pm
23rd - 28th August, 9am - 3pm (with longer hours on performance days)
Ages 9 and up
$300 (scholarships are available, so please contact us)

Premise of the Galapagos Project:
The flood is coming. The animals have built an ark. They can only choose two humans to join them. Who will they choose? Youth will collaborate to create and perform a devised theatre performance surrounding this story prompt, exploring their connection to the global climate change emergency.  This project is part of a larger global project with the David Glass Ensemble, where youth in 13 other countries will also create a theatre piece on this same topic.  Youth will have the opportunity (either during our camp or before /after) to connect digitally with other youth performers in the other participating countries to hear about their devised performance process.

About our facilitators:
Hailey Christie-Hoyle grew up in Revelstoke performing with Flying Arrow Productions, Revelstoke Theatre Company, Just For Kicks Dance Studio and at coffee houses and talent shows. You may have seen her in our production of How I Became a Pirate: the Musical, or The Paper Bag Princess. Hailey now attends Sheridan College's prestigious Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance Program in Toronto, Ontario. She works as a singing teacher and dance teacher in both Revelstoke and Toronto. As an experienced choreographer and director, Hailey's most recent works include music directing and co-choreographing for our production of Shrek the Musical, and directing and co-choreographing for Ismailova Theatre of Dance's production of Master and Margarita in Toronto.

Sara Harvey has worked as an actor, stage manager, and producer in the Montreal and Edinburgh theatre scenes. She completed her Bachelors in Theatre and English Literature at McGill University in 2019, and is currently working towards her Master's in Theatre and Performance Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. She has trained at the Stratford Festival's Shakespeare School in Ontario and the Stella Adler Studio in New York, and has helped bring new shows to the stage at both the Montreal and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. As an experienced theatre maker, Sara is looking forward to contributing her passion for theatre education to this summer's drama sessions.
